Wadi Hibi is located about 80km from Sohar and meanders between rugged mountains and date palms. Its main attractions are the fort, which has two large courtyards, as well as its many natural water pools.

First stop will be the fort in Nakhal, from there you’ll go to the hot springs of Ain Tawara. Then proceed to Rustaq visit the fort and the hot springs of Rustaq. After proceed to Hazem where you’ll also visit the fort. From there back to Muscat.

We leave in the morning for Nakhal, our first visit is a magnificent fort perched on a rocky mountain, which overlooks a small town known for date plantation. Few kilometers away is a village called Thowarah and its spring, believed to be full of minerals & healing ingredients?
Next will continue our journey along the Loop to Wadi Bani Awf, an ancient wadi offering breathtaking vistas along its 26km trail, is one of five spectacular wadis in the Wilayat of Rustaq. Picturebook oasis villages, nurtured by copious springs and aflaj, are a striking feature of Wadi Bani Auf. The wadi is about 10 minutes ‘ drive from the ancient city of Ar – Rustaq and winds its way through the towering heights of Jebel Al Akhdhar, A crumbling Watchtower stands high on a crag marking the entrance to the wadi.
As we drive along, will also come across an extraordinary charming farming village called ” Billad Sayt “, We drive back to Muscat via Rustaq on Muzana road.

Next will proceed to a village called Thowarah where warm water coming out of a spring, believed that full of minerals & healing ingredients is contained. Will continue our 4WD safari to Wadi Abyadh, “the white valley “, which is an amazing mix of the most attractive Omani Sceneries, Wadi, mountain, dunes: Wadi Abyadh has it all!
Wadi Abyadh will charm you with its flowing water all year long, its oleander bushes blossoming, & also you may be lucky to see colourful birds and butterflies. Desert is a perfect place for an exciting dune drive

On our way back will have a break (photo stop) at Town of Baraka to admire fish & vegetable Markets.

Drive to Rustaq crossing the Al Batina plain. On the way, visit the Fish market and souq of Baraka.
In Rustaq, we will visit the magnificent Rustaq fort & a water spring. (Fort is closed for renovations, can be visited from outside).
We will then head towards Nakhal, is a small and nice village, nestled against a mountain. It is known for its impressive fort, set on a rocky cliff and surrounded by palm trees. Then we will keep on our Way to the Thowarah spring. The warm water coming out of the spring is full of minerals and is considered to have medicinal properties.

Reachable by 4×4, Wadi Hoqain is a picturesque wadi about 50km from Al Rustaq. Framed by date plantations and rocky mountains, this wadi is especially known for its natural water pools and small waterfalls – the perfect place for picnic.
A little gap in the Al Hajar mountains, barely visible from the main road between Al Awabi and Al Rustaq, reveals the entrance to Wadi Bani Hani. Crossing this mountainous wadi is an adventure for experienced off-roaders only.
A haven for off-roading and geology enthusiasts, Wadi Al Abyad is about one and a half hour’s drive from Muscat and known for its turquoise water pools and stunning geological features. Interestingly, some of the area’s largest sand dunes can be found nearby.
Snake Gorge is located halfway through Wadi Bani Awf, a wadi that crosses the Al Hajar mountain range; it is famous for an extreme form of hiking – canyoning. This entails crossing the gorge on foot, across various boulders and water pools. Given the required level of fitness, those wishing to explore it are asked to arrange a guide.
Constructed in the 16th century as private residence for visiting imans, Bait Na’aman Castle is perfect for visitors to catch a glimpse at past times. This is thanks to the many traditional furniture and fittings on display, as well as other features such as the underground falaj system.
Overlooking Wadi Mistal, Wakan is a beautifully terraced farming village, set 2,000 metres above sea level in the Hajar Mountains. With hiking tracks and viewing platforms that make the most of the panoramic views of the wadi below, it is truly worth the visit.
